EPCOS Varistors

MT ThermoFuse™ Varistors

TDK MT ThermoFuse™ Varistors are equipped with monitor outputs and integrated thermal protective components for overvoltage protection. These specially developed quadratic disk varistors are connected in series with a patented thermal protective component design. In the case of a persistent overvoltage and heating of the TDK varistor, the fuse is activated and separates the varistor from the circuit with a high level of reliability. This prevents potential damage to the PCB or the components installed in the varistor’s vicinity.

SIOV Metal Oxide Varistors

TDK EPCOS SIOV Metal Oxide Varistors feature a wide operating voltage range of 11 to 1100V_RMS. These devices offer high surge current ratings up to 8kA and no derating up to 105°C ambient temperature. The SIOV leaded varistors meet new UL 1449 3rd Edition requirements. TDK EPCOS SIOV Metal Oxide Varistors applications include lighting, radio and TV equipment, and household appliances.

MT30 ThermoFuse™ Varistors

TDK MT30 ThermoFuse™ Varistors are metal oxide varistors that provide high peak surge currents of up to 25kA. These devices feature a leaded square varistor element and a compact size with a patented overmolded design. The series is UL 1449 recognized, type 1CA, and offers a short-circuit current rating (SCCR) of up to 200kA. TDK MT30 ThermoFuse Varistors are designed for use in surge protection devices, AC/DC distribution, inverters, and more.
